I have been passionate about photography for what seems like my entire life. I remember taking photos with my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, and anxiously waiting for up to two weeks for the film to be developed and returned via mail. I think what hooked me the most was when my family and friends oohed and aahed over the images I was able to get from that Instamatic. As a freshman in high school I used a Nikon, (I think it was a FX series, too long ago to remember), as a member of the newspaper and annual staff and was exposed to darkroom basics. Within a year I purchased my first 35mm camera, a Pentax K1000 and shot everything. In college I studied composition and advanced darkroom processing for both black and white and color photography plus I had the privilege of using several Cannon and Nikon cameras, while studying photojournalism. Years passed, and my old trusted 35mm camera finally gave up so I purchased another 35mm camera and kept on going. Being a purist at heart I never thought I would leave my film camera and go to digital. But when a friend let me borrow his, I was hooked. I now own three Nikon digital bodies, numerous lens, and have become a digital advocate. I edit and process my photos in Photoshop, Lightroom, Portrait Professional, OnOne or Photomatix Pro. I enthusiastically enjoy the entire process of photography, I just wish I had endless time and resources to explore it all.

Through the encouragement of friends and family Bob Boehm Photography opened a number of years ago.  I photograph the world around me, specializing in barns, landscape & nature photography. My wife Sarah and I, live in Bradford, a small town in central Illinois. I feel fortunate to live where we do, surrounded by loving friends, family close by, a wonderful community, and great places to photograph.
I also shoot family portraits and senior photos. Over the years I've been fortunate to shoot engagement and wedding photos with my wife or our daughter. I like to use two photographers at weddings whenever possible.  That way we don't miss anything, and we get different perspectives! We believe it is a privilege to work for a bride and groom and know that we can capture each wedding with a style and grace all its own.

Bob Boehm Photography has received numerous awards, and continues to strive to provide the best images of the world around me.
